Not only does family genealogical research link your ancient family members, but it also connects you with currently living family members, some you may have never even met!

When is the last time you spoke with your children, or even siblings about great great grandparents?  Why not?  Your lives today have many similarities with your ancestors.  And there are many differences as well.  Both the differences and similarities are what brought you where you are today, and you likely don't even think about it anymore.  Have you ever mentioned to your children, "I had to walk a mile to school each morning", or something similiar that compared their challenges to the ones you had?   If you have, then where did you get that idea?  There is much much more to discuss with your family than you think about it.
